The 5 Days Mountain Nyiragongo Hiking adventure will give you a great safari experience to explore this wonderful peak, full of great attractions and amusements. You will have a great time to explore Lake Kivu as well, known for having very many bird species making it a birding paradise.
Detailed itinerary for 5 Days Mountain Nyiragongo Hiking Adventure
Day 1: Airport Transfer to Hotel
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will go through custom and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a thousand hills that Rwanda is know of, a later drive to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Gisenyi. Travel time + 3.5 hrs
After having your early morning breakfast, you will be picked by your driver guide, who will transfer you for a short city tour, including a visit to Kigali genocide memorial ground where over 250000 bodies of victims of genocide of 1994 were laid to rest on a mass ground. You will later be transfer to Gisenyi with an en route lunch in Musanze. You will spend the evening at your own leisure, as you prepare for your next day hike. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Congo for Hiking.
After your early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Congo for the Volcano hike at Nyiragongo, so that you can kick off with the adventure of hiking one of the world’s most active volcanoes with a burning larva on top. You will visit a small supermarket in Goma town to shop some bites before you proceed to start your day hike with a briefing from the park officials. You will hike to the top of the Nyiragongo Volcanoes and spend a night there admiring the golden flame on top of the volcanos. It’s quite lovely on top, as you have whole night, taking pictures and enjoying the cool breeze at a higher altitude.
Day 4: Descend the Volcano
After a delightful breakfast in the wilderness on top of the volcanos, you will descend down the volcanoes and by mid-day you will be in Goma town, have lunch before being transferred back to Rwandan side. You will later be transferred back to Gisenyi where you will spend the rest of your evening at your own leisure as you go through your lovely beautiful photos you took during your volcano hike. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge
Day 5: Transfer to the airport.
After getting done with your relaxed morning breakfast, you will head for a boat ride on lake Kivu before being transferred to Kigali and later to the airport to catch up with your onward flight. End of service!
