11 days Uganda gorilla, chimpanzee trekking and wildlife Safari is a memorable experience as you get to experience Uganda’s primates and wildlife animals in Uganda most prominent National Parks which includes Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Kibale Forest, and Queen Elizabeth National Park for boat cruise and game viewing adventures.
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to hotel
You will be met by our driver guide at the Entebbe airport upon arrival from your long flight and transferred to your hotel to take a rest, later after diner; you will be briefed about the safari programme. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Accommodation: Lake Victoria Serena (luxury hotel) or KK hotel (Mid-range hotel) or Namirembe Guest House (Budget hotel) Meal Plan: Dinner
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale. Travel time +6 hours
You will picked up by our driver guide after having your morning breakfast, and be driven to Kibale through Mubende – Fort Portal route while you will be able to view nice looking tea gardens along the way. You will then have a stopover along the way to stretch as you proceed to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight at lodge. Accommodation: Crater Safari lodge (luxury hotel) or Primate lodge (mid-range lodge) or Rweteera Safari Park (budget lodge). Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking & Bigodi nature walk
Today you will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast and later you will be transferred to Kanyanchu visitor’s center for briefing at 7:30 am. The tracking takes roughly 2-4 hours depending how close the chimp groups are, and you will be given 1 hour to stay and watch the chimps feed, groom and their social life. Later you will return to the lodge for lunch at noon.
In the afternoon, after lunch, you drive to Bigodi bird sanctuary for a swamp walk to experience boardwalks, bird viewing and also spot some monkeys such as red tailed monkey, vervet monkey and colobus monkey and return to the lodge in late evening for dinner and overnight at lodge. Accommodation: Crater Safari lodge (luxury hotel) or Primate lodge (mid-range lodge) or Rweteera Safari Park (budget lodge). Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 4: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth NP for boat cruise. Travel Time +3 hrs
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park viewing the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey and head for your lunch. After lunch, take on an afternoon safari boat cruise along the Kazinga channel known for having 1000 of hippos to see some of the animals such as the Nile crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks, bush bucks, buffaloes and much more along the riverside and later drive to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay with a brief game drive.
The Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park is known for the tree climbing lions which do hide in the fig trees. Accommodation: Mweya Safari lodge or Park View Safari Lodge (Mid-range lodge) or Park View Tourist Lodge (Budget). Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Full day Game drive
After a morning cup of coffee, you will head out for an early morning game drive in search for the early risers such as the lions, elephants, kobs, buffaloes and alongside you will have chance to spot a number of bird species. The game drive may take roughly two hours before you return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will head for search for more tree climbing lions, which do hide and sleep on the fig tree that has made the Ishasha sector so famous of.
You as well spot other wildlife that is found in this park before you return for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation: Mweya Safari lodge or Park View Safari Lodge (Mid-range lodge) or Park View Tourist Lodge (Budget). Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth NP – Bwindi (Rushaga): Travel time +4 hrs
After relaxed morning buffer breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to the Rushaga sector where your next morning trekking will be conducted. Bwindi is known for harboring the endangered mountain gorillas which has found their home in this great tropical forest.
There are as well number of other primates and bird species that can be sited along with gorilla trekking. You will have en route lunch along the way as you travel to Bwindi. Accommodation: Gorilla Safari Lodge (luxury lodge) or Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Mid-range lodge) or Bwindi Back Parkers lodge (Budget). Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 7: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Experience
After breakfast set off early with guides to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngster’s frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rainforest, so ancient that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, it’s one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 720. Time permitting, spend the afternoon on a community foot safari to explore the lifestyle of the people living and surrounding the park. Return to camp exhilarated to relieve the encounter with friends over a drink. Accommodation: Gorilla Safari Lodge (luxury lodge) or Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Mid-range lodge) or Bwindi Back Parkers lodge (Budget). Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 8: Bwindi – Musanze Volcanoes. Travel time +3 hrs
Today, you will have breakfast at your lodge before drive to Musanze – Volcanoes via Cyanika border, with a beautiful view of the rolling hills and several stopovers along way for photography. Musanze is region around Volcanoes National Park were most of the lodgings are located as there is no lodges in the park areas. Volcanoes national park is very famous for the harboring the mountain gorillas and the shy golden monkeys that you will be tracking on the next day.
You will later be served lunch and after lunch head for an optional visit Iby’ Iwacu cultural village for a community encounter where you can get the insight of Rwanda culture, or you can decide to relax at your lodge at the pool side. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge. Accommodation: Five Boutique Volcano Lodge (luxury lodge) or Le Bambou Gorilla lodge (Mid-range lodge) or Le Palma hotel (Budget). Meal Plan: Full board
Day 9: Golden Monkey Trekking at Volcanoes
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the golden monkey trekking briefing from the park golden monkey and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the golden monkey, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. Golden monkey trekking is just like the gorilla trekking, however it is much easier to trek, than the gorilla trekking experience. The golden monkey tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates, just like the gorilla trekking.
After this golden monkey tracking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi, and spend the evening relaxing at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Accommodation: Lake Kivu Serena Serena Hotel (luxury lodge) or Paradise Kivu (Mid-range lodge) or Paradise Malade (Budget). Meal Plan: Full board.
Day 10: Boat ride and transfer Musanze to Kigali: Travel time +2hrs
After a relaxed morning buffet breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and head for a boat ride on Lake Kivu to explore the hidden treasure of this beautiful lake, the lake harbors a number of bird species. You will later be transfer to Kigali with a beautiful view of the winding hills of the countryside and check in to Kigali for lunch.
After lunch, you will head for the city tour to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Ground, where over 25000 bodies of the victims of the genocide incident were laid to rest for a decent burial. After the genocide visit, you will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Kigali Serena Hotel (luxury lodge) or Hotel des Mille Collines (Mid-range hotel) or Quite Haven Hotel (budget hotel). Meal Plan: Full board.
Day 11: Transfer to Kigali airport
Today after your warm early morning buffer breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer to Kigali airport to catch up with your flight to your home country. End of service!
