Detailed itinerary for 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Encounter Safari
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel in Kampala. Travel time 1.30 hrs
Upon arrival, you will be picked from the airport by our driver guide and transfer you to Kampala to your booked hotel accommodation, with a stunning view of the city, later check in to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight and dinner at the hotel. Meal plan: dinner
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
In the morning, after having your delightful breakfast, you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda most visited National Park, which will give you an opportunity to sight the Big 5 with en-route stop at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for an on-foot Rhino tracking experience. You will then proceed to enter the park and you will be welcome by the sighting of some wildlife along the way. You will spend the evening relaxing at your lodge. Overnight and dinner the lodge. Day 3: Boat cruise and afternoon game drive
In the morning, after a delightful light breakfast, you will go for a brief early morning game drive as you head towards the Nile, and later head for a boat cruise with Wild Frontiers up to the Nile delta and enjoy ride on the boat as well as having good wildlife sights of hippos and crocodiles. You will hike up to the top of the fall.
The hike can last from 45 minutes to an hour, which is very rewarding at the end. You will later be picked up by your driver guide and proceed to the northern sector for game drives with your picnic lunch. Return in the evening to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at lodge. Meal plan: Full board
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park & Bigodi nature walk. Travel time + 6 hrs
In the morning, you will set off a relaxed drive through the verdant countryside to Kibale Forest NP with en-route stops for sightseeing including the distant views of the rift valley escarpment. You will reach Kibale Forest National Park, in the late afternoon and in the afternoon; go for a nature walk to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for primate and bird viewing, the walk can take roughly 2 hours, to explore the hidden treasure of this swamp, with great chance to see a number of bird species and monkeys. Later drive to your lodge. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge. Meal plan: Full board
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. Travel time +3 hrs
In the morning, you will set off to the park headquarters for briefing before going for Chimpanzee tracking, where you may encounter other primates like Vervet Monkeys, Blue Hoest Monkeys, Black and white colobus Monkeys among others. Return to the lodge for Lunch and in the afternoon Drive to Queen Elizabeth with the beautiful view of the crater lakes. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge. Meal plan: Full board
Day 6: Game drive & boat cruise at Queen Elizabeth NP
Have early morning delightful breakfast, head for morning game drive in search for a number of wildlife. You will later return for lunch and in the afternoon, head for a lovely boat cruise at Kazinga channel, colored with plenty of wildlife seen at a distance, you will be able to sight a number of birds as well. Later in the evening, drive back to your lodge. Overnight and dinner at lodge. Meal plan: Full board
Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi. Travel time +5hrs
In the morning, you will go for an early morning game drive at Ishasha in search for the tree climbing lions and during game viewing anticipating seeing a variety of wildlife species including the big cats and several antelope species. You will later return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, drive to Bwindi with a panoramic view. Overnight and dinner at the lodge. Meal plan: Full board
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking Experience. Travel time +6hrs
Early morning, with packed lunch, you will go to the park headquarters for briefing before embarking on the gorilla tracking adventure. The gorilla trekking is always referred to as a lifetime moment, as it leaves with a great experience of meeting the gorillas face to face in the jungle.
You will be given an hour upon finding the gorillas to take a great moment with them as you watching the juveniles swing from one tree branch to another. You will return for lunch at the lodge, for lunch. In the afternoon, you will spend the evening at your leisure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Meal plan: Full board
Day 9: Transfer back to Kampala. Travel time +8hrs
In the morning after relaxed breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala, with an en route lunch. You will stopover at the Equator for photography and experience as you proceed with your drive back. Overnight and dinner at the hotel. Meal plan: Full board
Day 10: Airport Transfer.
After your morning breakfast, depending on your flight time, you may do a city tour around Kampala before being transferred to the Entebbe airport to catch up with your flight, patched with great memory of your 10 days visit to Uganda.
