4 days Gorilla & Chimp Tracking Safari will give a total wild trekking experience in the thick impenetrable forest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is one of the hot spots to trek the gorillas, known for harboring half of the word famous mountain gorillas. The safari will also give you a great experience to trek the wild habituated chimpanzees of Queen Elizabeth National Park at Kyambura gorge section of the park which will give you a chance to also spot a number of other primates and bird species along the way as you hike over the gorge.
Day 1: Pickup from the Kigali airport & transfer to Bwindi: Travel time +5 hrs
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport and passing through the immigration process, you will be welcomed by our safari driver who will, brief you shortly and later you will proceed with a drive to Bwindi through the magnificent route to your booked accommodation. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Safari lodge (luxury lodge) or Silverback Lodge (Mid-range lodge) or Broadbill Forest camp (Economy lodge). Meal plan: Dinner.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking & transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Travel time +5 hrs
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the briefing from the Uganda wildlife officials and thereafter enter the jungle to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour gazing into their big round eyes. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movement of these primates. After the gorilla tracking experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer on the afternoon for an overnight in your booked accommodation in Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha plains Diner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge (luxury lodge) or Parkview Safari lodge (Mid-range lodge) or Baboon lodge (Economy lodge). Meal plan: Full-Board.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking & transfer to Kampala. Travel time +6 hrs
Today, after having your early morning breakfast, you will head for chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura gorge where you will be briefed by the park ranger before you finally slope in the gorge to hunt for the chimpanzee. The trekking will give you a great experience to see and spot some rare bird species, wildlife and plants along your way as you track the chimpanzee. On finding the chimps, you will be entitled to one hour with them, where you will be able to take enough photographs and later return to your lodge with a brief game drive on the Kyambura plains as you return for early lunch and later transfer to Kampala reaching in the late afternoon for overnight and dinner at your booked lodge. Day 4: Transfer to the Entebbe airport
After having your morning breakfast depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to Entebbe airport to catch up with your flight as you wave bye bye to the Pearl of Africa. End of service!
